Hi
I have come across the above post, I see it’s from a few years back, but Annette, I’m wondering if you have any info on my side of the Buntings in Donaghadee.
I have never lived in Ireland, so have no connections and forbearers are no longer here, so I’m pretty stuck. Going backwards, my great grandfather, Maurice Bunting, was born in Moat Street in 1867, and went on to work at Abbeylands in Whiteabbey as their resident gardener, married Sarah Waugh who died and then Elizabeth Ross. My Grandfather James Bunting, born 1916, he was one of 9 siblings between both wives, was brought up at Abbeylands, Whiteabbey, before he came to England in the 30s. My Grandfather´s siblings, were Dorothy, Luisa who both went to the USA, Robert who went to London, Elizabeth who died young, Eleanor who went to work for the McCalmont family in London and then I can´t find out anything further, there´s an Edward Bunting who maybe went to Essex as a property developer and there´s another Maurice who I think stayed in Donaghadee and a Sarah Bunting, who I cannot trace either. Maurice´s father, also called Maurice, Morris, or Robert Maurice, was a horse dealer born in 1841 and lived in Moat Street with Hannah McWirr, I believe. Any info on any of the above would be fantastic.
Thank you
Aurea
